Wanda Houston

Wanda has been delighting audiences and winning devotees throughout New England with her stunning interpretations of jazz, blues, R&B, adult contemporary, and gospel classics, and show tunes since 2006.

Prior to relocating to the Berkshires, Wanda was performing in Broadway and Off-Broadway shows, and singing with Broadway Inspirational Voices, a Grammy-nominated gospel choir. She performed at Radio City Music Hall, Madison Square Garden, and Carnegie Hall in a variety of capacities with luminaries including Natalie Cole, Sam Harris, Eartha Kitt, Patti LaBelle, Michael Jackson, Barbra Streisand, and John Turturro.

Earlier, Wanda lived in Los Angeles, and performed in musical theater productions and on concert stages, including the Pasadena Playhouse and Universal Studios. During this time, she toured with Mary Wells, The Platters, and Martha and The Vandellas; sang in Steve Silver’s Beach Blanket Babylon at the Sands Hotel in Las Vegas; and acted in theater productions, including Michael Jackson’s Sisterella, which toured the U.S., Europe, and Australia.

A classically trained opera singer, Wanda holds a BA in Music, with a specialty in Opera, from Ripon College. She began her musical career while a young girl, singing with her mother, brother and sister in the Houston Singers, and acting in her father’s theater company, Newer Still Productions.
